CTD kills three TTP terrorists behind attacks on Chinese nationals in Karachi

KARACHI: Security agencies foiled a major terrorist plot in Karachi by arresting two militants linked to the banned outfit “Fitna al Hindustan” during a joint operation in Manghopir of the port city.

The operation was carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), a federal intelligence agency, and local police. The arrested suspects, identified as Abdul Wakeel and Ajmal, were taken into custody along with weapons.

According to the CTD, both men had received military training in Afghanistan and were close associates of Sharifullah, a highly wanted terrorist. Authorities revealed that the duo belonged to Qila Abdullah district in Balochistan and had been sent to Karachi to execute a major attack.

Investigators said the suspects were awaiting specific targets to be assigned to them. Timely action by security forces prevented a potential tragedy.

Officials confirmed that interrogation of the arrested terrorists has begun to uncover details of their network and future plans.
