QUETTA: The powerful explosion struck the railway track near the Suspended Railway Station, moments before the Jaffar Express was due to arrive from Quetta en route to Peshawar.
In this regard, as per the initial reports, no passengers were reported injured, and no loss of life has been confirmed so far.
The Jaffar Express had departed Peshawar in the morning and was scheduled to pass through the station at the time of the explosion. However, security agencies have intensified surveillance along the track, and all incoming and outgoing train movements are being closely monitored to avoid any further incidents.
In this sense, the law enforcement sources mentioned that the blast caused partial damage to the railway line, disrupting train schedules in the region.
In addition, an official from Pakistan Railways stated that the swift response of the crew and the coordination between local police and railway security averted a potential disaster.
The Jaffar Express is a vital passenger service connecting Quetta with Peshawar, carrying hundreds of commuters daily.
