Commander 116 Brigade visits injured civilians at KGN Hospital Bannu

BANNU: The Commander 116 Brigade, accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner Bannu and Superintendent Police City, visited Khalifa Gul Nawaz (KGN) Hospital today to inquire after the health and well-being of civilians injured in a recent unexploded ordnance (UXO).

This tragic event occurred on August 1, when a group of local children in Langar Khel Sarband village, while tending to goats, discovered an old UXO reportedly brought from the nearby former South Waziristan battle region (SBR). The blast resulted in the death of five civilians, all children, and left thirteen others injured, including five in critical condition.

During the visit, Commander 116 Brigade personally met with the injured victims and their families, offering his condolences and reaffirming the military’s commitment to their recovery and well-being.

He further assured the families that, if necessary, additional medical support would be extended from the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Bannu.  The presence of senior military and civil officials served as a source of reassurance for the affected families and the broader local community.
