Quetta : Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has immediately suspended the appointment of retired officer Murad Miri to a senior administrative position, citing legal and public concerns
The appointment, made in violation of prescribed rules and regulations, sparked significant backlash on social media and among the public.
Upon reviewing the matter, the Chief Minister ordered the suspension of the notification with immediate effect.
According to official sources, Murad Miri had been appointed as Technical Advisor to the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team.
However, objections were raised regarding the legality and merit of the appointment, especially as it involved a retired officer returning to a key role without proper justification.
The notification issued on July 29, 2025, has now been formally withdrawn.
In his statement, the Chief Minister emphasized that no appointment or posting outside the scope of law will be tolerated.
He further directed that no administrative officer will be allowed to misuse their authority or violate service rules.
It was also clarified that all appointments in Balochistan will be made strictly on merit, transparency, and in accordance with legal procedures.
