QUETTA: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday declared that terrorists backed by India and those facilitating them will face a dreadful end, vowing an unrelenting crackdown against elements challenging the writ of the state.
The statement came during a high-level security meeting chaired jointly by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti. The meeting reviewed the province’s overall law and order situation and discussed key obstacles hindering the implementation of the provincial action plan on security.
Briefing the participants, Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti emphasised that the fight against terrorism was not just the responsibility of security forces but a collective battle for the entire nation. “All state institutions are working in complete harmony to restore lasting peace in Balochistan,” he said, adding that the sacrifices of both the armed forces and civilians will not go in vain.
Interior Minister Naqvi reaffirmed the government’s resolve to crush terrorism with full force. “Indian-sponsored terrorists and their facilitators will be brought to justice,” he said. “Those who defy the state’s authority will be dealt with an iron hand.”
The meeting was attended by top provincial and federal security officials, including the Inspector General of Police Balochistan, IG Frontier Corps North, DIG Counter Terrorism Department, DIG Special Branch, DG Levies, officials from the Home Department, and senior representatives of other law enforcement agencies.
Participants reviewed the implementation status of the provincial security action plan, identifying key challenges and discussing ways to enhance coordination among departments to overcome them.
