RAWALPINDI: Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR) has said that nine Indian-sponsored khwarij were killed and eight others were arrested in a joint intelligence-based operation conducted in Malakand District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to an ISPR press release, from 16-20 July 2025, a joint intelligence-based operation was conducted by the Security Forces along with Police, Levies, CTD and District Administration in Malakand District, on reported presence of khwarij belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij.
ISPR said that during the four days operation, security forces skillfully surrounded and effectively engaged the khwarij location, and after intense multiple fire exchanges, nine Indian-sponsored khwarij were sent to hell, while eight khwarij were apprehended.
The forces also destroyed two hideouts used by khwarij and a large quantity of weapons ammunition and explosives were recovered.
Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to the State’s counter terrorism efforts.
President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday praised the security forces and Levies for eliminating Khwarij terrorists in Malakand operation.
President Zardari reiterated the resolve that the State would continue its steps with full strength against terrorism, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.

Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Sunday paid tribute to Pakistan Army, Police, Levies, Counter-Terrorism Department and district administration for successful joint operation against Fitna-al-Khawarij terrorists in Malakand district.
He praised security forces and supporting agencies for killing nine Fitna-al-Khawarij terrorists in successful operation.
