Levies force rescues nine members of Hindu family from forced labor in Khuzdar

KHUZDAR: As many as nine members of a Hindu family were rescued from forced labor in a successful operation conducted by the Levies Force in the Grisha area of Tehsil Nal, district Khuzdar, on Saturday.

According to details, Levies force carried out the operation based on a tip-off provided by Senator Dinesh Kumar. The Commissioner of Kalat personally supervised the raid, which led to the arrest of a local landowner accused of illegally detaining and forcing the family into bonded labor.

Levies officials confirmed that the rescued nine member of a Hindu family including women and children, were originally from the Sanghar district of Sindh province. They had reportedly been lured to Khuzdar under various false pretexts and then forced them into working under harsh conditions.

Levies force shifted the rescued family to the Levies police station in Khuzdar for a medical checkup and further investigation. Authorities said legal action has been initiated against the arrested landowner, and an investigation is ongoing to determine if more individuals were subjected to similar exploitation.

Senator Dinesh Kumar lauded Levies force for the swift response and the active involvement of Commissioner Kalat for rescuing the family. He urged the government to take stronger measures to combat human trafficking and bonded labor, particularly in remote areas.
