QUETTA: An inspiring story of hard work and continuous struggle has surfaced from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan. Abdul Rehman, a 35-year-old man working in an ice factory in Quetta, fulfilled his dream of becoming a 17th grade officer by passing the Balochistan’s Public Service Commission exam.
Abdul Rehman, who belongs to the middle class, used to work in an ice factory to earn a daily bread for his family. After a hard day’s work, instead of resting, he would resort to books to realize his dreams of getting a government job at officer level to ensure the respectful and secure future. After three attempts, he finally succeeded in passing the Balochistan Public Service Commission exam.
Abdul Rehman was selected as a Grade 17 Field Archaeologist in the Department of Culture, Tourism and Archives. While talking to local media, Abdul Rehman said that there was no recommendation or wealth, only courage, prayer and hard work were my real strength. He said that he did not stop studying even in the moments of relaxation in the ice factory because he knew that his real capital was his education.

This story of his is a beacon of light for those youth who consider disappointment, failure or lack of resources as obstacles on the path to their destination. Abdul Rehman proved that if the intentions are strong, any dream can be realized.
