Two terrorists, including TTP Commander, killed in Tank IBO

TANK: Security forces neutralized two terrorists, including a key commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).  

The terrorist was identified as Commander Hanzala, a high-value target involved in multiple terror activities in the region.

The operation was conducted following actionable intelligence about terrorist movement in the area. 

During the encounter, one terrorist was also injured and taken into custody. On the other hand, a separate incident on the same day, police foiled a major terrorist attempt on a police station in the Gambella area of Lakki Marwat district. In this sense, 10 to 12 terrorists had taken strategic positions near the Gambella Police Station.

Meanwhile, an improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated by terrorists in the Sorbat Nalai area of Khar tehsil, Bajaur district. The blast resulted in minor injuries to a local resident, Subhan Ullah, son of Fazl Subhan.

So far, funeral prayers were held with full state honors at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines, attended by senior police officials including K-P IGP Zulfiqar Hameed and CCPO Qasim Ali Khan. Floral wreaths were laid, and great tributes were paid to DSP Rakhmeen’s bravery and dedication to duty.
