KHUZDAR: In a heartbreaking incident in Khuzdar district of Balochistan, three individuals lost their lives after drowning while bathing in a river.
According to Levies sources, the incident occurred in the Sarona area, where the victims had gone to a river near the Kocho area for a swim.
Unfortunately, they ventured into deep waters and were unable to survive.
The deceased were aged between 11 and 25 years. Their bodies have been shifted to a nearby hospital, and after the necessary legal procedures, will be handed over to their families.
Balochistan has experienced severe flooding in recent years, particularly in 2022, which not only caused large-scale displacement and infrastructure damage but also left many natural waterways deeper and more dangerous. Incidents like these highlight the lingering hazards left by those floods, stressing the need for improved public safety awareness near water bodies.
So far, as many as 14 people have lost lives in water incidents in Balochistan amid the ongoing rainy season. The PDMA has given warning regarding the floods in the Southern Balochistan. Heavy rains are predicted in Barkhan, Khuzdar. Lasbela, Qila Saifullah and some other pasrts of Balochistan, The flood threats have been issued in this regard. All the necessary equipment has been provided to the authorities to counter any untoward situation in these areas.

There is a forecast of heavy rains, winds and thuderstorm across the country from 11 to 14 July.
