Daanish schools in Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved six new Daanish schools for Balochistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The total estimated cost of the project is Rs19.253 billion.

This initiative is part of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s drive to expand access to quality education in remote areas. The federal and provincial governments will share the cost equally under a 50:50 model.

The schools will be built in Kan Mehtarzai, Sibi, Baiker (Dera Bugti), Musakhel, and Zhob in Balochistan, and one in AJK. Each school will cost between Rs2.66 billion and Rs3.63 billion.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal chaired the CDWP meeting. He stressed the need to improve education in underdeveloped regions.

The Daanish Schools system, originally launched in Punjab, now expands to other provinces. It aims to support talented students from disadvantaged communities.

The new schools will use modern technology to improve learning and track student performance. They will move away from rote learning and focus on innovation in education.
