QUETTA: Balochistan is emerging as a hub of academic excellence with 12 active universities offering a wide array of disciplines, including medical sciences, engineering, agriculture, technology, and social sciences.
These institutions are playing a changing role in equipping the youth of the province with the knowledge and skills required to compete at both national and international levels.
Furthermore, the province’s expanding higher education landscape includes prestigious institutions such as the University of Balochistan, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), and Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University.
These universities not only provide quality education but also foster an environment of innovation, research, and leadership.
In addition, landmark development came in 2019 with the establishment of a campus of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Quetta. One of Pakistan’s top-ranking universities, NUST’s presence in Balochistan has significantly enhanced access to top-tier technical and engineering education for local students.
Likewise, the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) also inaugurated its Quetta campus, opening new avenues in linguistics, international relations, and communication studies.
