LEAs Quetta hold key meeting to ensure peace during Muharram

QUETTA: The district administration and law enforcement agencies of Quetta convened a high-level meeting to finalize a comprehensive security plan. The meeting, held at the Police Line Quetta, brought together top officials from police, LEAs, and Islamic scholars from all sects of Islam. 

This meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Inspector General Police. The session focused on devising a coordinated and foolproof security strategy to ensure that Muharram processions and majalis (religious gatherings) are conducted peacefully across the district. 

The Deputy Commissioner focused on the importance of inter-agency coordination and active community engagement in upholding law and order.

Furthermore, a special security deployment plan was outlined, which includes the installation of CCTV cameras at sensitive locations, increased patrolling, and the establishment of control rooms for real-time monitoring, whereas bomb disposal squads, medical emergency teams, and firefighting units will also be kept on standby.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) mentioned the proactive steps being taken to counter any possible threat. 

In such a scenario,rReligious scholars and community leaders have been taken on board to promote inter-sect harmony and discourage any inflammatory content during sermons.

The district administration concluded the meeting with a firm resolve to make Muharram a month of spiritual reflection and communal harmony, free from any security disruptions.
