Quetta school wins World’s Best School Prize

QUETTA: Three Pakistani schools have earned a spot on the shortlist for the prestigious World’s Best School Prizes, and among them is a standout institution from Balochistan.

Beaconhouse’s Juniper Campus in Quetta has been named a finalist in the Community Collaboration category. The school has launched Science Gaari, a mobile, student-led science laboratory that travels to underprivileged rural areas.

Through this initiative, the school delivers hands-on STEM education to children who would otherwise have little access to such opportunities. The project empowers students to lead the learning process while bridging education gaps in marginalized communities.

The World’s Best School Prizes, introduced by T4 Education in 2022, celebrate schools making impactful contributions through innovation, resilience, and inclusive practices, especially in a post-COVID-19 world.

This year’s awards recognize excellence in five categories: Community Collaboration, Environmental Action, Innovation, Overcoming Adversity, and Supporting Healthy Lives. A judging panel will select the winners based on set criteria, while the public will also vote to decide the Community Choice Award among 50 shortlisted schools.

In the Overcoming Adversity category, Lahore’s Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust Higher Secondary School has been shortlisted. The school runs on a charitable model and delivers inclusive, inquiry-based learning to marginalized children using the IB and Primary Years Programme (PYP) curricula.

Meanwhile, Nordic International School in Lahore joins the Community Collaboration finalists for its commitment to building a nurturing environment that involves parents and promotes a culture of kindness.

Winners will be announced in October and invited to present their stories to global education leaders at the World Schools Summit in Abu Dhabi, set to take place from November 15–16.
