QUETTA: Senior politician Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Raisani has asserted that he has never compromised the future of upcoming generations for temporary power. He emphasized that power should never be sought at the expense of one’s people and their rights.
While talking to a delegation of editors at Sarawan House, Raisani outlined his views on the current political situation in Balochistan.
Raisani claimed that his politics was for the people of Balochistan and not for personal gain, asserting adding that politics is not about personal benefit; it is about serving the public.
Raisani criticized the imposition of political “orphans” in Balochistan, referring to individuals without roots or principles who have been elevated to power.
He further said that he had never traded the future of Balochistan’s children for temporary political gains, stressing that power had always come to him naturally.
Regarding the challenges faced by Balochistan in the past elections, Raisani pointed out that he had been consistently sidelined in the 2013, 2018, and 2024 elections. He also mentioned that the verdict for his 2018 election case had yet to be delivered.
Former senator called upon political activists to rise above corruption and the entrenched monopolies in national politics, warning that the future could be even more challenging for the people of Balochistan unless meaningful action was taken.
