10 Dead, 42 injured in  road accidents across the country

Lahore : At least 10 people lost their lives and 42 others sustained injuries in multiple road accidents reported in Layyah, Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), Ghotki, and Nankana Sahib.

Near Nawankot in Layyah, a speeding bus carrying pilgrims overturned, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including a woman, and injuring 26 others.

Rescue teams shifted the deceased and injured to Tehsil Hospital Fatehpur.

Six of the injured were in critical condition and were referred to Nishtar Hospital in Multan.

The bus, traveling from Lahore to Kot Addu via Karor Lal Esan, had 62 passengers inside and around 20 on the roof. Most victims were from the same family.

In Drazinda, a tehsil of DI Khan, a car lost control and fell into a ravine, killing four people, including two brothers and a 7-year-old child.

Two others were injured. All victims were residents of the Biaran village. The bodies and injured were taken to Drazinda Hospital.

In Nankana Sahib, a car crashed into a tree on the Mandi Faizabad Road, leaving one person dead and two injured. The victims were shifted to Sharaqpur Hospital.

Meanwhile, on the M-5 Motorway in Ghotki, a livestock-loaded truck overturned due to the driver falling asleep.

The crash claimed the lives of three individuals—Zulfiqar, Mazhar, and Bilal Ahmed—and injured 12 others.

The injured, in critical condition, were taken to Rahim Yar Khan Hospital. The victims were livestock traders from Muzaffargarh district in Punjab.
