Kakar Calls for Full-Scale Operation to Eliminate Terror Threat in Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: Former caretaker Prime Minister and Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar has suggested a full-scale operation is needed to end the menace of terrorism from the Balochistan.

While talking to a private news channel regarding the Khuzdar incident, Anwarul Haq Kakar said that he could not express in words the pain of terrorism in Khuzdar, but it was time for the terrorists to be defeated.

Regarding Pakistan and Afghanistan relations, Kakar said the Afghan leadership must consider that terrorist sanctuaries operating from soil pose a serious threat to Pakistan. He added that Kabul must take action against those elements that are creating problems in bilateral relations.

Ex-premier Kakar said that the interests of both Pakistan and Afghanistan are interconnected and joint cooperation against terrorism is necessary for the peace and development in the region.

He also praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, adding that he has taken a good decision by awarding Field Marshal Asim Munir.

On Pak-US relations, Kakar said that the US has come to understand the full reality of the security situation in the region. He feels that important discussions have taken place between the Pakistani military leadership and US officials at some level, he said, although he does not have official confirmation of this.

He further said that the reaction of Indian PM Modi shows that India is unable to recognize its victory and his attempts to portray Pakistan as weak have failed.
