University of Turbat students conduct field study on Gwadar coast

QUETTA: Students and faculty members from the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences at the University of Turbat conducted a study tour to Ganz, a coastal area of Gwadar, to observe the coastal ecosystem and collect field samples for their microbiology practicals.

The visit aimed to provide hands-on learning opportunities by allowing students to collect soil, water, plant, and other samples from the coastal environment for microbiological analysis.

The research team was led by Dr. Jahangir Khan, Chairman of the Department, and faculty member Zamira. During the field visit, students received practical training on sample collection, preservation, and methods of microbiological examination.

According to the university spokesperson, despite limited resources, the administration under Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Gul Hassan is committed to providing students with field-based learning opportunities to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

To achieve this goal, the university continues to facilitate field visits, research activities, and hands-on training sessions that enable students to apply their classroom knowledge and enhance their scientific and analytical skills.

The spokesperson added that the study tour will help students gain a deeper understanding of microbiology and the dynamics of the coastal ecosystem.

Students and faculty members of the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences expressed their gratitude to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Gul Hassan and the university administration for arranging the study visit despite limited resources.

Meanwhile, the Gwadar university looks forward for the promotion of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the students.
