ISLAMABAD: Britain’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar in Islamabad, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
They discussed the evolving regional situation during the meeting, the statement state.
Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts were highlighted by Ishaq Dar. It was said that Pakistan had continued to facilitate dialogue and reduce tensions between different sides.
Dar said engagement and diplomacy remained the only effective path for peaceful resolution of disputes. Continued efforts in this regard were reaffirmed by Pakistan.
The British High Commissioner praised Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating contacts between the United States and Iran. Support for these efforts was also expressed.
