KARACHI: Two suspected robbers were shot dead in an alleged police encounter near the Liaquatabad Post Office in the central district of the city on Saturday.
According to SSP Central Dr. Imran, the two men were in the middle of robbing a citizen when a police patrol arrived at the scene. He stated that the accused opened indiscriminate fire upon spotting the officials, prompting the police to retaliate. Both suspects were killed in the exchange of fire.
Dr. Imran further informed that the criminal records of the deceased are currently being verified, and their bodies have been shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The SSP added that efforts are underway to arrest other accomplices of the slain robbers, who are expected to be taken into custody soon. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing
