TURBAT: Deputy Commissioner Kech Bashir Ahmed Barych has finalized preparations for the district’s largest sporting event, the Mega Sports Festival 2025, following a comprehensive planning meeting with key stakeholders.
The meeting brought together civil society representatives, educational institutions, and sports associations, including Convener Altaaz Sakhi, District Sports Officer Abdul Ghaffar Baloch, and representatives from University of Turbat and local colleges.
Scheduled for December in Turbat city, the festival will feature separate competitions for men and women across multiple disciplines. The event program includes football, cricket, badminton, and traditional Balochi sports in both indoor and outdoor categories.
Officials confirmed participation from educational institutions and sports associations across Kech district and other parts of Balochistan, describing it as one of the most significant sporting events in the region’s history. The final schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
Recently several games at the first-ever Balochistan Women Games 2025 in Quetta were concluded with great enthusiasm. Various sports competitions reached their finale, showcasing the talent of young female athletes from across the city.
Local women athletes participated with full energy and spirit. The concluding ceremony was marked by passion and excitement.
Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs, Meena Majeed Baloch, attended the event as the chief guest. She was accompanied by Sports Secretary Durra Baloch and Director General of Sports Yasir Bazai.
Speaking to sports journalists, Meena Majeed said the main aim of such events is to uncover the hidden talent of women. “We want them to shine and contribute to the success and prosperity of Balochistan,” she said. She confirmed that similar events will continue to ensure equal opportunities for women in sports.
