Trump Urges Israel Not to Retaliate After Iran Missile Attack

Iran Fires Back at Trump

WASHINGTON:  US President Donald Trump has urged Israel not to retaliate following Iran’s missile attack, saying he will advise Tehran that “you fired your missiles, that’s enough,” while Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned that the attack was a warning and any further aggression would trigger a more extensive response.

Speaking to journalist Barak Rawid, Trump said he hopes Israel will hold back. “Iran should come back to the table and make a deal,” he added, noting that the US military remains on alert.

Trump also expressed concern over Israel’s recent strike on Beirut. “I am not happy with today’s attack on Beirut by Israel. I am going to call Netanyahu right now. I will tell the Israeli Prime Minister not to retaliate,” Trump said. He warned that if Netanyahu retaliates, “this series will continue as it has been going on for 47 years.”

The Iranian missile barrage came in response to Israeli attacks on the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The Israeli army confirmed that missiles were fired from Iran and said its air defense system was intercepting the projectiles.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards issued a stern warning, stating that the missile attack on Israel was a warning. “If aggression is repeated, the response will be more extensive,” the Guards said in a statement.

According to the Revolutionary Guards, Israel’s Ramat David Air Base was targeted with ballistic missiles by the IRGC Aerospace Force. The Guards said that the acceptance of a ceasefire was conditional on the cessation of firing on all fronts, accusing the US and Israel of not fulfilling their promises.

The Revolutionary Guards warned Israel that it must stop its attacks on Lebanon, otherwise “the consequences will be more devastating,” adding that all US and Israeli targets in the region would be targeted. Iranian officials had previously vowed retaliation in response to the Israeli attack on Beirut
