Trump: Enriched uranium obtainable without Iran deal

Trump Rebukes Netanyahu Over Lebanon Strikes

WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump has stated that enriched uranium can be obtained without a nuclear deal with Iran, while warning that an attack on US military forces by Tehran could serve as justification for restarting the war.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, President Trump said that under any potential agreement, Iran would not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. He further added that if a deal is reached with Iran, the strategic Strait of Hormuz would be opened immediately.

Regarding direct diplomacy, Trump said he does not want to meet Iran’s Supreme Leader, but acknowledged that a meeting could be possible in the event of a final agreement. When asked by a journalist about the status of negotiations, he replied, “You will soon know.”

The US President also commented on Lebanon, stating that peace would be good for the country and that the situation in Lebanon will have to be monitored. He added that he has discussed the situation in Lebanon with Hezbollah.

Turning to the war in Ukraine, President Trump called for reconciliation to resolve the conflict, saying it would be “great” if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin were to meet.
