SYDNEY: Hundreds by Travis Head and Steve Smith take Australia right on top against England in the fourth test match of the Ashes Series 2025-26.
After getting England bowled out for 384, the hosts put up a terrific show with the bat in their first innings.
Travis Head, continuing his fine run with the bat, smashed another test hundred at the SCG, his third in the ongoing Ashes Series.
This was his 11th ton in test cricket apart from 17 50 plus scores.
Head has made 4400 runs averaging 42.5 in 109 innings of the 64 test matches that he has played so far.
Travis Head has been Australia’s key figure in the batting line up for the past three years for his ability to score runs consistently.
On the other hand, the acting captain Steven Smith has scored his 36th test ton on Tuesday.
Australia now lead by 86 runs in the first inning with three wickets in hand as the play of day 2 is about come to an end.
