PISHIN: In a shocking daylight incident, armed men abducted a local trader, Abdul Ghani, from the main chowk of Pishin.
Following the abduction, members of the business community, led by District President of the Central Traders Association, Malik Bahadur Khan Malazai, staged a protest condemning the incident and demanded the immediate and safe recovery of the kidnapped trader.
Protesters also called upon the authorities to ensure the safety and security of citizens and their properties.
Reports indicate that incidents of abduction involving not only civilians but also administrative officers have increased alarmingly across Balochistan.
While criminal elements are abducting individuals for ransom and extortion, Indian-backed militant organizations are allegedly targeting government officials to challenge state authority and advance their separatist agendas.
A few months ago, BLF militants kidnapped Assistant Commissioner of Tump, Muhammad Hanif Noorzai, along with his son, who were later recovered through the efforts of the provincial government, local administration, and tribal elders.
Similarly, Assistant Commissioner of Ziarat, Muhammad Afzal Baqi, was abducted with his son, and conflicting reports later emerged regarding their martyrdom.
In another case, DSP Mastung, Rafiq Hamza Mengal, went missing while returning to duty after attending his mother’s funeral in Hub but was recovered two days later.
The surge in abductions has sparked fear among citizens and heightened security concerns for foreign workers engaged in development projects.
Another challenging figure is the rapid growth of grasping extortions from the traders and the transporters in Balochistan.
This has raised uncertainty for the businesses and the economic activities which demands peaceful, secure and a stable law-and-order environment everywhere around.
The troublemakers deliberately aim for chaos and unrest for their personnel gains and leave the people to distress.
