Pakistan's top military leadership paid tribute to the nation's martyrs on the 60th Defence and Martyrs’ Day. In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Asim Munir, along with the heads of the navy and air force, honoured the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers and their families. The statement recalled the events of September 6, 1965, praising the "unflinching resolve" of the Pakistani nation and its armed forces. It stated that despite being outnumbered, brave soldiers thwarted an enemy's aggression, leaving a message that "a united nation can never be defeated."
