Six Killed, Including women and child, in first Monsoon spell in Balochistan

Quetta:Six people, including five women and a child, lost their lives during the first spell of monsoon rains in Balochistan.

According to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), heavy rainfall led to tragic incidents including the collapse of walls and people being swept away by flash floods.

The report stated that seven individuals, including three women, were injured in rain-related accidents. In Khuzdar and Ziarat, eleven houses suffered partial damage due to the downpour.

A particularly deadly incident occurred in Zhob, where a vehicle was swept away by floodwaters, resulting in the deaths of three women and a child.

A woman and a man were also injured in the same incident. In Ziarat, another woman drowned in a dam, while in Musakhel, a wall collapse injured four individuals, including a woman.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has forecast hot and humid conditions across most districts of Balochistan.

Experts predict rain with thunder and strong winds in Musa Khel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Kalat, and Mastung.

Today, Quetta recorded a high temperature of 39°C. Other temperature readings include Kalat at 33°C, Ziarat at 29°C, Zhob at 38°C, Sibi at 44°C, Turbat at 41°C, Nokundi at 45°C, Chaman at 41°C, Gwadar at 34°C, and Jiwani at 33°C.
