QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has officially renamed the historic Coal Gate Square in Quetta to “Shuhada-e-Ziarat Chowk” to pay tribute to the brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives while battling terrorists in Ziarat.
Shahid Rind, Assistant to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Information and Political Affairs, confirmed that the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta has issued a formal notification, and the decision is effective immediately.
Shahid Rind stated that these martyrs gave their lives to ensure peace, harmony, and the safety of the public.
He emphasized that their sacrifices are a national treasure that will be remembered with deep respect.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the government is committed to translating its appreciation for these sacrifices into tangible actions, ensuring they are permanently enshrined in national history rather than merely commemorated through words.
Naming public landmarks after martyrs serves as a vital tradition to honor national defenders and introduce the younger generation to these profound sacrifices.
Rind reiterated that the Balochistan government will continue to prioritize the dignity, honor, and welfare of the martyrs’ families, ensuring their unparalleled contributions to the nation are never forgotten.
