MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has come out in support of the student protest led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), voicing his appreciation for their demands for a better education system.
In a statement released on X (formerly Twitter), the actor addressed the ongoing agitation, expressing both concern and admiration for the student community. He described the movement as a “very peaceful” one initially, but noted his sadness over its violent turn.
“It is very sad to see that it has taken a violent turn. My heart aches for the students and their families who were harmed during this,” Salman Khan wrote.
The actor emphasized that the paper leak issue at the heart of the protests is a “very serious issue.” He expressed happiness that students across the country have come forward unitedly for educational reform, and particularly praised the parents for their full support of the young agitators.
Salman Khan wholeheartedly appreciated the stance and struggle of the students, stating that they have proven through their dedication, sincerity, and hard work their genuine desire to study, build bright futures, and contribute to a more educated and developed India. He called their courage, bravery, determination, and passion for education “truly commendable.”
“This protest and this movement is a step in the right direction and the students have taken it forward in a very peaceful manner,” he added, expressing confidence that “this generation will make India shine in the future.”
In a clear appeal, the actor stressed that the matter should remain strictly between the students and the education system, and should not be given a political color.
“The real credit for this success goes only to the students of our country,” he asserted.
Salman Khan concluded by expressing hope and prayer that a positive solution is found. He expressed confidence that the government will fully support the students and take necessary steps to further strengthen the education system, thereby benefiting everyone.
“I hope and pray that a positive solution is found in this matter. May God grant success to all the students who want to gain knowledge,” he added.
