LAHORE: Punjab’s Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, has issued a clarification regarding reports about an extension in school and college holidays across the province.
He dismissed circulating rumors about any increase in the vacation period, stating that there is no change in the announced schedule.
According to the minister, all schools and colleges in Punjab will reopen as planned from January 12.
In Punjab, schools and colleges observe summer and winter holidays each year in accordance with the academic calendar issued by the School Education and Higher Education Departments.
Summer vacations are usually announced during the peak heat months to protect students and staff from extreme weather, while winter holidays are scheduled during the cold season to ensure safety and convenience.
These breaks provide students with time to rest, prepare for upcoming academic sessions, and engage in extracurricular activities.
Educational institutions reopen strictly according to the officially announced dates, and any changes are communicated through formal government notifications.
