Reko Diq Mining Company to create new jobs for locals

NOKUNDI: The Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) has reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing local employment, particularly for youth in nearby villages such as Durbin Chah.

Ali Dost Yalanzai, RDMC’s Community Engagement Manager, emphasized the company’s policy to offer job opportunities to the local population on a preferential basis. “We are determined to find sustainable solutions to unemployment and ensure that local communities are active partners in the journey of progress,” he stated during a visit to Durbin Chah.

Yalanzai was accompanied by RDMC’s General Manager Mr. Ryan Mitchell, HR Lead Inayatullah Kabdani, and members of the HR team from Capital Drilling, one of RDMC’s partner companies. The visit was widely welcomed by village residents as a practical demonstration of RDMC’s employment-focused agenda rather than a symbolic gesture.

Representatives from Capital Drilling also acknowledged the importance of engaging local youth and announced that new job opportunities would be created in the coming months. They further revealed that a comprehensive database of eligible candidates from Durbin Chah has already been compiled to ensure fair access to employment.

The visit was attended and appreciated by tribal elders and local influencers including Muhammad Karim Sherzai, Shah Nazar Dagarzai, Malik Mahmood Muhammadzai, Syed Shay Basheer Syed Balanoshi, Mullah Tawakkul Khan Burhanzai, Ghulam Nabi Sherzai, Abdul Qadir Burhanzai, Jangi Khan Mashwani, and Malik Noor Ahmad Sherzai, among others. Community members expressed heartfelt gratitude to RDMC and Capital Drilling for their sincere engagement with local concerns.

Particular praise was reserved for Ali Dost Yalanzai, whose dedication, empathy, and practical actions have been instrumental in identifying and addressing the core issues facing the community.
