Islamabad: Rain is expected to begin across various parts of the country starting tomorrow.
According to the Meteorological Department, showers are likely between June 20 and June 23, potentially bringing relief from the ongoing heatwave.
The Met Office reports that monsoon winds will cause rainfall during this period, especially in eastern Balochistan, southern Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, accompanied by strong winds.
From June 21 to 23, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir may also experience rain, while parts of Sindh are likely to receive rainfall between June 22 and 23.
Authorities have warned of possible flooding in streams and rivers, as well as urban flooding in low-lying areas due to heavy downpours.
In the past decade, Balochistan has faced multiple severe rain and flood events, most notably in 2022 when devastating floods displaced thousands, destroyed infrastructure, and led to significant loss of life and property.
