Quetta set to make football history with Pakistan’s first International Training Camp

QUETTA: Quetta is preparing to host the country’s first-ever International Football Training Camp, an initiative that signals a major step forward for youth sports development and international collaboration.

The training camp is being organized under the auspices of the Balochistan government, in collaboration with DHA Quetta. The sports officials describe the initiative as a strategic effort to bring global-standard training opportunities to a region that has long remained outside the mainstream of international football development.

Furthermore, what sets this camp apart is its partnership with the Steven Gerrard Academy, a globally recognized football institution associated with the legendary former England captain. Under this collaboration, six international expert coaches will deliver structured, professional-level training aimed at increasing technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning.

The participants will include selected football teams from both Northern and Southern Balochistan, ensuring broad regional representation and offering young players exposure to advanced coaching methods rarely accessible within the province.

The initiative also includes specialized coaching for the Women’s Football Team, indicating an important step toward inclusivity and the promotion of women’s sports in the region.

The preparations continue behind the scenes, anticipation is steadily growing within Pakistan’s sporting community. What exactly will unfold on the training grounds of Quetta and how this initiative could reshape the future of football in Balochistan remains a story still unfolding.
