QUETTA : Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Bangulzai, a young medical professional from Balochistan, has called upon Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti to ensure merit-based appointments at Quetta’s Trauma Center, warning that recommendations and financial influence are robbing capable youth of their rightful opportunities.
In a passionate statement, Dr. Bangulzai said that appointments made on the basis of political recommendations or money are not only unfair but also a clear violation of the rights of deserving and skilled individuals.
“We professionals have dedicated precious years of our lives to education, training, and internships,” he said. “We have gained clinical experience and honed our skills by working in different cities, especially Karachi. This journey was not easy at all — it involved immense hard work, struggle, and financial sacrifices.”
He argued that when final appointments are made based on personal connections rather than merit, it amounts to a direct injustice to the future of hardworking doctors. “Even if our voice is ignored despite being raised in the media, our struggle will not stop,” he asserted.
Dr. Bangulzai urged everyone to listen to the voice of conscience and support the truth. “We have worked tirelessly, endured hardships, and proved our mettle. If today we are not given the right to our hard work and personal interests are given priority, then this is absolutely unacceptable. We will not compromise on our rights and merit.”
Drawing inspiration from religious teachings, he invoked the message of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA). “He proved that one should not bow down to oppression but should stand firm for justice in all circumstances, no matter how difficult. Falsehood may prevail temporarily, but ultimately victory always belongs to truth and justice.”
Dr. Bangulzai expressed confidence that with patience, courage, and determination, his struggle will one day succeed. No immediate response from the Chief Minister’s office or hospital administration was available.
