QUETTA: Frontier Corps North Balochistan and Quetta Customs have carried out a major joint operation against smuggling, seizing contraband including cigarettes, raisins, and tea, officials said.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of 10 trucks, which were transferred to the Customs warehouse. Officials said the value of the seized goods is estimated at nearly PKR 700 million (around $3.5 million).
Authorities noted that in the past three weeks alone, anti-smuggling operations have recovered billions of rupees worth of goods, including over 70 luxury vehicles, cigarettes, tea, textiles, raisins, and narcotics.
The crackdown is being conducted nationwide under directives from the federal government and military leadership to curb smuggling, officials said.
Collector Customs Enforcement Quetta confirmed that the army and other law enforcement agencies will continue coordinated efforts to combat smuggling.

Officials emphasized that criminal elements will not be allowed to undermine the national economy or threaten national security. Frontier Corps North Balochistan and Quetta Customs pledged to continue operations until smuggling networks are completely dismantled.
