NASIRABAD: The Chief Executive Officer of QESCO Balochistan, Syed Yousaf Ali Shah, conducted a visit to Nasirabad to review the region’s power supply performance and ongoing infrastructure projects.
During the visit, CEO Shah was briefed by Superintending Engineer Hassan Ali Magsi and XEN Operations Muhammad Waryam Manjho on key operational metrics, including electricity supply, line losses, and bill recovery rates.
The CEO issued clear directives to officials, emphasizing the priority of providing consumers with an uninterrupted power supply. He ordered an intensified crackdown on electricity theft and stressed the importance of maintaining a courteous and professional attitude with the public to build the department’s credibility.
Following the briefing, CEO Shah inspected new construction sites, the XEN rest house, and the RO office. While expressing satisfaction with the progress, he urged for continued improvements to ensure QESCO meets its goal of enhancing public convenience and service delivery.
In same development the Gwadar Port Authority and QESCO have announced urgent plans to fix the city’s severe electricity problems.
The chairman expressed serious concern over constant power cuts, voltage issues, and transformer failures that disrupt daily life and hurt the water supply and fishing industry.

The agreed solution includes an infrastructure overhaul: replacing old wires, poles, and installing 80 new transformers. QESCO staff will also receive special training to improve maintenance and address the city’s unique needs.
CEO Yousaf Shah confirmed that QESCO is actively working to upgrade the power network. He revealed that 80 new transformers are being procured, with 20 designated as backup units.
