Progress is being made in talks with the US due to Pakistan's efforts: Iranian Foreign Minister

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for facilitating these developments, suggesting that Islamabad has played a constructive role in easing tensions and encouraging communication between the two sides.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has asserted that recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz clearly demonstrate that political crises cannot be resolved through military means.

The statement come at a time of heightened concern over security and stability in one of the world’s most strategically vital waterways.

Araghchi focused on the importance of dialogue and diplomacy, mentioning that progress is being made in talks with the United States.

He credited Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for facilitating these developments, suggesting that Islamabad has played a constructive role in easing tensions and encouraging communication between the two sides.

Araghchi further cautioned the United States to remain vigilant against elements that, in his words, seek to drag Washington back into prolonged and complex conflicts in the region.

The Iranian foreign minister also extended his warning to the United Arab Emirates, advising it to exercise caution in its strategic decisions.

In this regard, Araghchi described what he referred to as “Project Freedom” as, in reality, a “Project Deadlock.” This characterization indicates Iran’s longstanding criticism of American strategies in the Middle East, which it argues have contributed to prolonged conflicts rather than sustainable solutions.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a focal point of international attention, as a significant portion of global oil shipments passes through the narrow passage.

The international community will be closely monitoring developments, particularly the reported progress in U.S.-Iran discussions and the role of regional mediators such as Pakistan in fostering stability.
