ISLAMABAD: A police encounter in Peshawar resulted in the deaths of four members belonging to a high-profile, dangerous dacoit gang, while two of their accomplices managed to escape.
Peshawar police executed the targeted operation within the jurisdiction of the Yaka Toot police station, confronting the police encounter suspects who were heavily sought after by law enforcement agencies across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr. Mian Saeed stated that the neutralized individuals were principal culprits behind numerous heinous offenses, including kidnapping for ransom, vehicle snatching, and massive armed robberies.
According to police findings, the gang systematically impersonated security personnel to gain entry into residential properties for multi-million rupee heists.
Investigations revealed their direct involvement in high-value robberies, including approximately Rs 80 million in DHA Karachi, Rs 100 million in Raja Bazaar Rawalpindi, and Rs 50 million in Dir.
Further criminal records tied the syndicate to an estimated Rs 8 million heist in Hayatabad, an Rs 20 million robbery in Chamkani, an attack on the residence of MPA Khalid Sargana in Jhang, and looting 168 tolas of gold from a Sindh Assembly member’s home.
Additionally, the gang executed a grand financial fraud worth roughly Rs 6 million targeting the son of a high-ranking government official.
Following this decisive police encounter, authorities launched a comprehensive manhunt to capture the remaining fugitive members.
The elimination of heavily wanted criminals through aggressive anti-crime operations underscores a critical facet of law enforcement dynamics in Pakistan.
