The development was announced on Wednesday as officials confirmed that bidding for the 7th and 8th franchises is now open.
Furthermore, the PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, said the league is entering an exciting new phase. He stated that the PSL is “going to be bigger and even better,” focusing on that the inclusion of new teams reflects the league’s growing popularity and commercial potential. Naqvi added that the long-held dream of expanding the PSL is “finally coming true,” mentioning the board’s confidence in the league’s continued success.
Moreover, the announcement comes as the PCB looks to strengthen the PSL’s brand value, broaden its fan base, and create new opportunities for regional representation in the tournament.
