Indian Channels Hacked; Pakistani National Anthem Broadcasted

DELHI: The broadcasts of two prominent Indian news channels, TV9 Telugu and Freedom TV Kannada, were compromised when hackers seized control of their feeds.

During a scheduled speech by the Indian President, the hackers interrupted the broadcast to play the national anthem of Pakistan.

Along with the anthem, a warning message appeared on screen, cautioning against provocations directed at Pakistan.

The cyberattack temporarily disrupted the broadcasting operations of both networks.

The incident has triggered widespread discussion across social media, where TV9 Telugu commands a following of 14 million users and Freedom TV Kannada has over one million followers.

Cyber security analysts note that the breach exposes significant vulnerabilities within the cyber security infrastructure of the Indian media sector.

Official statements regarding the exact nature of the hack or the identity of the perpetrators have not yet been released.
