The defeat ended Pakistan’s run of three consecutive victories at the ongoing event in Aichi-Nagoya, where both teams produced an intense contest and kept pressure on each other throughout the match.
Pakistan had made a strong start to their campaign, securing three successive wins before facing Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Pakistan suffered setbacks in both men’s squash semifinals.
India’s Abhay Singh defeated Pakistan’s Muhammad Asab Irfan 3-0 to book his place in the final.
In the other semifinal, Pakistan’s Noor Zaman was beaten by Malaysia, ending Pakistan’s hopes of reaching the squash final through either semifinal.
