QUETTA: The Pakistan Army has restored five buses for Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences, fulfilling a long-standing demand by students, particularly female students, for improved transport facilities.
Sources said the Pakistan Coast Guards, a subsidiary force under the Pakistan Army, completed the repair and upgrade of the buses used by students traveling to the university in Uthal, located in Balochistan.
Under a social outreach initiative, the Coast Guards repaired and refurbished all five university buses. The work included body repairs, fresh paint, upgraded seats, improved electrical systems and enhanced safety measures.
Authorities handed the buses back to the university after completing the repairs. Faculty members and students welcomed the initiative and sent a letter of appreciation to the Pakistan Army.
The university’s vice chancellor, Abdul Malik Tareen, thanked the army in a letter and said the support reflects strong cooperation between state institutions and educational organizations.
He said the assistance would not only resolve immediate operational issues but also strengthen trust and cooperation among public institutions.
