Security Forces Kill 5 Militants in North Waziristan Infiltration Attempt

PESHAWAR: At least five terrorists of the Fitna al Khawarij were killed in North Waziristan as security forces foiled an infiltration attempt by militants from Afghanistan, reportedly backed by India’s RAW.

According to military sources, movement of 15–18 militants was first detected near Shadi Khel on Friday. Initial spotting was made through a tactical intelligence camera at a forward post, and the militants were observed moving towards Yashkhulla North.

As the group approached the built-up area, their movement was closely tracked using surveillance and quality control measures. Later, the militants noticed the surveillance and split into smaller groups, seeking cover in nearby vegetation.

Security forces launched extensive surveillance operations and conducted a series of targeted strikes. Four aerial or quick-reaction strikes were carried out by Aba Khel Post while two additional strikes were conducted by forces.

Officials confirmed that 9–10 militants were hit in the engagement, with 4–5 killed. Some bodies remained at the site, while a few were recovered by surviving militants. The operation lasted over one hour, and video footage from the surveillance confirmed the casualties.
