Quetta: The Health Minister has taken notice of the incident in which a newborn boy was reportedly swapped for a girl.

The Health Care Commission has been instructed to submit a report within 24 hours.

According to details, staff at a nursery on Jinnah Road in Quetta allegedly changed a newborn boy into a girl.

The father claimed that his son was born at the hospital and immediately transferred to the nursery for care, but he was handed a girl instead of his son.

When the parents protested, the nursery staff denied the allegations, insisting that the baby was a girl from birth.

The father then filed a complaint at the police station.

In response, the police took action and detained all nursery staff at the station.

Health Minister Bakht Kakar also took notice of the incident and directed the Health Care Commission to provide a full report within 24 hours.

Balochistan’s health system has been undergoing a series of reforms aimed at improving healthcare access, quality, and infrastructure across the province.

These reforms focus on modernizing hospitals, expanding primary healthcare facilities, and ensuring the availability of essential medical supplies and trained personnel in both urban and remote areas.

Special attention is being given to maternal and child health, vaccination programs, and emergency medical services to address long-standing gaps in healthcare delivery.

Additionally, efforts are being made to strengthen administrative oversight, implement digital health records, and enhance monitoring through health commissions and regulatory bodies.

By prioritizing timely completion of development projects and fostering collaboration between provincial and federal authorities, Balochistan aims to create a more efficient, reliable, and accessible healthcare system that meets the needs of its growing population.
