The Hockey Management have officially announced a new management setup for the national hockey team as part of preparations for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.
The decision has been taken with the aim of strengthening the team’s performance and ensuring improved results in the important international tournament.
Khawaja Junaid has been appointed as the head coach of the national side. Meanwhile, Azfar Yaqoob has been assigned the responsibilities of assistant coach.
The experienced individuals including Sultan Ashraf, Farakh Atiq, and Arif Haleem Butt have also been inducted into the team management.
In this sense, the hockey authorities expressed confidence that assigning responsibilities to experienced professionals would help prepare the team in accordance with international standards.
They reasserted their commitment to achieving better outcomes in the World Cup Qualifiers and restoring the team’s competitive edge on the global stage.
The national hockey team is expected to commence a training camp shortly. During the camp, special focus will be placed on players’ fitness, skills development, and strategic planning.
The management plans to implement structured training sessions designed to enhance overall team coordination and performance under pressure.
