Motorway Police seize Rs 210 million cocaine, two arrested

ISLAMABAD: In a major anti-narcotics operation, Motorway Police have recovered cocaine worth over Rs 210 million and arrested two suspects, including a woman, near Sial Mor on the M-2 Motorway.

According to a spokesperson for the Central Region, the operation unfolded when patrolling officers signaled a suspicious vehicle to stop for a lane violation. The driver, however, ignored the signal and attempted to flee, prompting an immediate pursuit by the police, who successfully intercepted and took control of the vehicle.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, law enforcement personnel recovered more than 40 packets of drugs with a total weight exceeding 21 kilograms. The estimated value of the seized cocaine in the international market is over Rs 210 million, officials confirmed.

The operation was led by Sector Commander SSP Malik Zafar Iqbal, with key contributions from IP Sibt-e-Hasnain, Rana Haroon Iqbal, and Head Constable Waqas.

The recovered cocaine has been handed over to the Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) Punjab for further legal proceedings. Authorities have stated that a thorough investigation into the incident is currently underway to uncover the broader network involved in the smuggling attempt.

The successful operation highlights the vigilance of Motorway Police in intercepting drug trafficking along major routes and their commitment to curbing the illegal narcotics trade.
