QUETTA : Balochistan CM Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti on Friday stated that a “misunderstanding” has been spread regarding government action against religious schools, clarifying that the provincial administration has no intention of targeting madrasas.
Speaking to reporters, Bugti emphasized that the government would provide all possible cooperation for the development and improvement of religious schools. He noted that the parliament has already passed the Madrasa Registration Act, and the legislation will now be presented in the Balochistan Assembly.
“We will take steps to enact this law with consensus in the assembly,” Bugti said, adding that the matter would be resolved through agreement among all stakeholders.
The chief minister did not elaborate on the nature of the alleged misunderstanding but sought to reassure religious school administrators of the government’s supportive stance.
