ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday.
Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, also attended the meeting, said the ISPR in a statement.
The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest. They focused on regional security dynamics and professional military cooperation. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued engagement between the armed forces of Pakistan and Libya.
Field Marshal Munir welcomed the distinguished guests. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Libya. He also highlighted Pakistan’s support for peace, stability, and institutional development in the North African country.
The meeting took place in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reflecting longstanding friendly ties between the two nations.

Earlier, upon arrival at Noor Khan Airbase, Field Marshal Haftar was received by Field Marshal Munir. The Libyan dignitary also paid homage to Pakistan’s martyrs and laid a wreath at the GHQ memorial.
