AJK Unrest: Leaked Audio Exposes Plot to Instigate Violence

Islamabad: A leaked audio call between two members of the Awami Action Committee has largely exposed the motives and malicious intentions behind orchestrating unrest and provocation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). Khawaja Mehran, a committee member from Mirpur, AJK, contacted Shaukat Nawaz Mir (also referred to as Shaukat Ayaz Mir), a resident of Muzaffarabad, via phone.

During the call, Shaukat Ayaz Mir stated, “Unless there is a large-scale confrontation or clash in Rawalakot, we won’t be able to achieve anything.”

He added that people were highly agitated over a recent incident in Rawalakot, emphasizing, “If the momentum builds up in Rawalakot, only then will something happen. Without large-scale violence, nothing will move in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur.”

Shaukat Ayaz Mir was also heard instructing to assess the deployment strength of the security forces in Rawalakot.

In response, Khawaja Mehran noted that security forces were stationed in Rawalakot purely to maintain peace.

To this, Shaukat Ayaz Mir reiterated, “I repeat, until the situation worsens in Rawalakot, we won’t be able to achieve anything.”

Commenting on the audio leak, the Minister of State for Interior stated that the call clearly demonstrates how this miscreant group aimed to exploit public grievances as a facade to fulfill their nefarious designs.

He emphasized that the matter is of an extremely sensitive nature and warrants a comprehensive investigation.
