Lakki Marwat Police Defuse 20kg of Explosives

LAKKI MARWAT: Police in Lakki Marwat foiled a major terror plot by successfully defused two homemade remote-controlled IEDs containing over 20 kg of explosives, officials said on Monday.

Acting on intelligence, police and the bomb disposal squad launched an operation on Ahmad Khel Road and recovered two homemade remote-controlled improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted along the route in the limits of Saddar police station.
The bomb disposal squad defused both bombs, preventing potential mass casualties and damage.

Officials said the timely action prevented potential loss of innocent lives.

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, praised the police personnel for their swift and professional response.

Earlier today in the morning, a powerful explosion rocked the area near the main gate of Miryan Police Station in Bannu, with initial investigations revealing that the blast was caused by explosives planted on a motorcycle.

All personnel inside remained unharmed. Tragically, however, the attack claimed the lives of two innocent civilians and left fifteen others injured.

Security officials and analysts point out a recurring pattern: whenever militant groups—whether operating under the banner of Fitna Al Hindustan or Fitna Al Khawarij—suffer significant setbacks at the hands of law enforcement agencies, they shift their focus to soft civilian targets.
